Saturn in Pisces

Saturn in Pisces can feel a little bit like an oxymoron because where Saturn signifies boundaries, Pisces is often concerned with the dissolving of boundaries. Saturn likes routine, Pisces likes to go with the flow. Saturn can restrict, where Pisces can expand. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and although they are both social planets they operate in very different ways. After the last 5 years of Saturn being in domicile, ruling both Capricorn and Aquarius, there has been an overpowering sense of duty, loss and restrictions. We know that the world experienced the 2020 stock market crash in February 2020 when Saturn was in Capricorn and then the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 coinciding with Saturn in Aquarius. Saturn was able to excel in those two signs but will struggle to have the same effect in Pisces. Think back to the last time Saturn was in Pisces, 1993-1996, for those of you that were alive back then, what was going on for you? On a world stage, after three and a half centuries of colonialism and apartheid, Nelson Mandela became South Africa's first democratically elected president. Quite a few peace treaties were also signed, and we saw the emergence of the World Trade Organisation. The early 90’s had a distinctively unique style in both fashion and music, with a high number of rap and r&b stars rising to the top, as well as the grunge scene.

Saturn in Pisces will likely see greater accountability within the arts and culture sector. We may also see a rise in online fake accounts, as well as more countries legalising drugs. There will be some dissolution of archaic governmental systems and structures, that no longer serve our modern and ever-changing world. Saturn likes to destroy and then rebuild. There may also be more room for forgiveness and compassion. The downside to this transit is the potential to lose a grip on reality and truth, so take care to foster regular reality checks as well as having the courage to set and enforce boundaries.

st house, Pisces rising – This is a great transit to work on self-improvement by really connecting with your sense of self but be careful of being too hard on yourself, as Saturn can carry a feeling of heaviness. Remember to love yourself with compassion and dedication, especially as Saturn approaches and joins your ascendant and any other planets you may have in the 1st house. During this transit, you are likely to feel that you are growing up and taking a more responsible approach to life. The 1st house is also about our physical body, so you may begin a new health routine. At the start of this transit your identity may feel challenged, and circumstances may arise where you feel misunderstood or isolated, but over time as Saturn moves through your 1st house your self-confidence will grow. Rather than withdrawing, use this transit to trust your close network for support.

nd house, Aquarius rising – There is an opportunity here to re-evaluate your spending habits and chose saving over splurging. You are likely to want to tighten the purse strings anyway, but don’t let this transit cause you to fear responding to your needs, both emotionally and materially. Circumstances may occur that restrict your income or sense of security in some way, which could be something as simple as an unexpected bill, so this transit is asking you to be mindful of your personal finances and set realistic boundaries. Rather than suffering financial losses, you could experience financial gains, but these would be slow and steady rather than sudden and considerable. Try not to doubt your self-worth and belief during this time, remember the nature of Saturn, which although at times can be difficult, ultimately means you will come out of the other side stronger.

rd house, Capricorn rising - The 3H is the house of the mind, how you express ideas and your mental perception. Saturn transiting here could therefore indicate a more sombre outlook where you may find yourself worrying more than usual. It might be useful during this transit to find effective ways to quieten the mind, to help combat negative and intrusive thoughts. For those who are studying, you may find you’re more disciplined and flourish, or that you place too much pressure on yourself to succeed. For those not formally studying, you could still have an interest in learning and mastering a particular subject. You may find there is a communication breakdown or feelings of isolation in relation to your siblings, neighbours, or close acquaintances, however, by the end of this transit, it’s likely you will have developed better communicative skills and found new ways of expressing yourself.

th house, Sagittarius rising - You may find yourself wanting to reorganise and structure the family home as you realise that the old way of living no longer serves you. Key relationships with family members may take centre stage and there may be a need to set and enforce boundaries with those closest to you, to prevent yourself from feeling exhausted and to help foster greater mental health and wellbeing. You could start to explore where you come from in more depth, which is linked to your sense of identity and there could be moments of feeling unanchored. Because the 4th house is often the lowest point in the chart and where the IC resides, it is likely that this transit is not as obvious as other houses but is where your inner world receives life changing personal developments.

th house, Scorpio rising - This transit doesn't have to indicate having no fun, but you may start to take a hobby more seriously or take this chance to truly hone your creative skills. There may even be times where you experience a lack of creative spark and wonder what special talent you may have. If you’re fearing stepping out of your comfort zone, then take up something you used to enjoy when you were younger, but no longer have time for. Although the 5th house can be literally about children, it can also point to your own inner child, so embrace that childlike approach to doing fun things. Try not to feel guilty for doing activities that are pleasurable, especially in a world where adulthood is often about working to pay the bills. Perhaps a romantic relationship becomes a little more serious or established but beware of viewing your love interest through rose-tinted glasses.

th house, Libra rising – This is a great time to let go of any unhealthy habits and addictions that will ultimately lead to healthier outcomes. Focus on maintaining effective wellbeing routines, such as a new skincare routine. If you are already a fitness bunny, then you may find yourself drawn to activities that require more dedication and stamina, such as running a 10K or half marathon. Try not to get too caught up with the daily grind, and although Saturn’s presence here may make this more difficult, it's OK to practice self-care, free of guilt. There may be a need to create boundaries at work with your co-workers.

th house, Virgo rising – The perfect opportunity to re-evaluate all your close relationships: romantic, platonic, and business partnerships. Perhaps you'll renew your vows, buy a promise ring, or build the foundations of a new business. However, Saturn can also point to difficulties in your close relationships where you or the other person involved may feel stifled and require space. This doesn’t have to spell the end of the connection you have built over time, rather a chance to reassess and check that everyone’s needs are being met. For people who are single or don’t have a significant person in their life, this transit may feel pressurised, but the idea of commitment will be viewed as important, and you may examine your own idea of commitment. This transit screams stability over uncertainty and despite your mutable nature, which can sometimes flit from one thing to the next, Saturn will force you to take your time with your endeavours.

th house, Leo rising - Saturn will be in your 8H of sexual relationships, other people’s money or inheritance, our obsessions/addictions, and deep inner transformations. It can signify a time where you are forced to look at your financial situation especially regarding debts, as Saturn will have a more sombre influence on getting your finances in good order. You could also start to re-evaluate unhealthy addictions with a view to bringing more restraint and control to those life areas. When we submit to compulsive behaviours, we lack self-control, which in turn can cause us to feel guilt and shame. This transit can also make us more aware of our own mortality and although scary, by the end there will hopefully be an acceptance followed by a desire to live life to the fullest.

th house, Cancer rising –You may decide to take learning more seriously and this doesn’t need to be formal or academic, it could be anything that expands your horizons and outlook on life. If you’re already studying, you could question if this is the true path you wish to take. Despite having a desire to explore new places, there may be less opportunities to do so or there could be delays to planned trips, so organise as much as possible beforehand. Saturn may make being open minded to new ideas difficult, so beware of becoming dogmatic. You may start to question and doubt your beliefs and faith system or encounter people and events that shake the foundations upon which your beliefs are built. However, by the end of this transit you are likely to have developed a better relationship with your idea of hope and faith.

th house, Gemini rising – You may find more stability in your chosen career or job borne out of a greater dedication. There may be someone in a position of power or authority that creates difficulties for you, where boundaries are put in place that might make you feel restricted or undermined. Or perhaps you take on a more authoritative role, where you could be publicly recognised or rewarded for your hard work and efforts, but there may times where your responsibilities feel like a burden. The 10th house is often where the MC lies and therefore the highest point in your chart is under the spotlight. You are likely to have a better understanding of your position in the world and what you stand for. Remember not every accomplishment has to be on show for all to see, so by the end of this transit you may simply feel more secure within yourself.

th house, Taurus rising – A time to re-evaluate your social circle of friends, acquaintances, and social media connections. You may start to realise which ones no longer align with your current life path and instead choose to solidify the ones that do. There may be periods of loneliness, where you feel that some of your friendships are moving on without you but remember there is a season for everything and it’s normal to outgrow some connections. Despite potentially fearing failure of your aspirations, you could feel more inclined to create a 5-year plan of your hopes and dreams for the future to help you feel more secure. By the end of this transit, it’s likely that you will have a better sense of your innermost aspirations and how to achieve them.

H Aries rising – Saturn is said to rejoice in the 12H, which makes sense, since the planet of restrictions and boundaries is in the house of quiet contemplation, healing, and solitude. This is likely to be a time where you get to reset and refocus on you and your inner world. You may feel less sociable and averse to unnecessary interactions, preferring to connect with self. This could be a good time to see a therapist or to take a solo trip focused on healing. You may feel more inclined to turn to more spiritual practices and may feel more in tune with your higher self-consciousness, an ascension of sorts. It’s OK to grieve the old you with a view to moving onto your next chapter of self-growth.
