1. What is astrology?

Western astrology is an ancient practice that dates back approximately 4000 years. It is a combination of Astronomy (the study of our universe, planets, stars, asteroids), Maths, Mythology, Psychology and ascribes symbolic meaning through intricate observation and analysis of celestial bodies. 2. What can I expect in my reading?

All readings will take place live via a video call, where we will explore your chart together. The session will be recorded and shared with you to download. I encourage you to download a copy of your recording within 48 hours of receiving it, as I have limited space to keep a copy. Although I will guide you through your reading systematically, nothing is set in stone, and I am keen to allow the consultation to flow freely, where you feel comfortable and at ease. I'm happy to focus on a few different themes that are important to you, so please do add as much detailed information about what you'd like to get out of the session in my intake form! You will also receive a summary report in a PDF file ahead of your reading, which will provide a nice overview.

 

3. What type of astrology do you practice?

I practice tropical astrology which is the zodiacal system most used in western astrology. In simple terms this is when the position of the sun is referenced against the horizon as a measure of time, giving rise to the annual four seasons, two equinoxes and two solstices. The other commonly used system is sidereal, which is when time is measured using fixed star points. They are simply two different ways of dividing up the sky. While I use traditional rulerships for planets, I blend both traditional and modern astrology within my own practice and will refer to the three outer planets if relevant.

 

4. Which house system do you use?

I primarily use the Whole Sign System for both interpreting the birth chart and when considering planetary transits to the birth chart. However, I believe the Placidus system is just as valid and quite often both systems are complementary to each other. Some astrologers prefer to stick to one system, while others will mix and blend. There is no right or wrong house system. There are also many other houses systems beyond Whole Sign and Placidus.

 

5. What topics will/won’t you cover?

Readings are for entertainment purposes only and don't replace the help of a professional. Any decisions you make are yours and yours alone. I am not a psychic or medium of any kind. I only use astrological techniques in my practice. I don't do readings on life/death, health, legal matters, third parties, cheating, pregnancy, celebrities, and overall things that do not concern you. You should not rely on a reading to make any decisions that affect your financial, medical, or legal well-being. Please consult with the appropriate licensed professionals if this applies to you. You must be 18 years or older to book with me.

 

6. Are you formally trained?

I have been self-studying astrology since 2018 and have been formally learning astrology through the Faculty of Astrological Studies since April 2021.  I have successfully completed the foundation course (modules 1-3) and will sit the exam later this year. I've also completed module 4 (transits and solar returns) on the diploma course  which will eventually allow me to become officially certified. More details about the faculty can be found here. I have attended two weekend courses by the Faculty of Astrological Studies and will be attending NORWAC 2024. I have purchased several books and lectures, listened to countless podcasts and continue to get readings myself. The breadth and depth of astrology is enormous, so I'm dedicated to lifelong learning.

 

7. What if I don’t know my birth time?

Although I can offer written reports and live readings without a birth time, it will limit some of the techniques I can use and interpretations I can make. Your time of birth is your own unique identity stamp, much like our fingerprints. I also know from my own experience that the memories of well-meaning parents are often incorrect, so it is much preferred if you have an official record of your birth time (birth certificate, birth records, personal child health record - red book). If not, then I am able to work with an approximate time of day, but please be aware that some key interpretations might be missing. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of valuable information I can extract from your chart and can offer both natal chart readings (Discovering the magic & The deep dive) without a birth time or with just an approximate one. Please note, I am unable to offer a Your Year Ahead reading or astrology coaching, if you do not have a birth time, due to the timing techniques involved.

 

8. What is your refund and cancellation policy?

All written report sales are final and non-refundable at the point of purchase, so please do contact me with any questions you may have BEFORE making payment.

 

I understand that life can get in the way and sometimes we need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. For a full refund on live reading bookings, please allow as much time as possible when cancelling, as I spend several hours preparing. If you cancel your consultation booking at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time you will receive a full refund. After 10 minutes I will assume a “no show”, which you can reschedule once without charge at a time that is convenient to us both.

I will not share any of your personal and private information with third parties. I will not sell or distribute your personal information.
